Mace Consult announces new senior leadership appointments

Mace, the global programme and project delivery consultant and construction expert, has announced a number of appointments within Mace Consult’s senior leadership team.

Andy Beard, who joined Mace in 2022, has spent the last two years leading the Group’s cost and commercial service. His new role, as Managing Director for Infrastructure in Europe, will see him head up Mace’s UK and European mobility, resilience, defence and national security consultancy teams, overseeing delivery of some of the most complex and challenging infrastructure delivery schemes across UK, Ireland and the continent.

Before joining Mace in 2022, Andy was a partner at Arcadis and previously led the global cost management business and formed part of the executive leadership team for the global places business. During this time, he oversaw digital transformation, a shift towards sustainable value propositions and improvements to business performance and operations across large business units.

He brings extensive experience across the infrastructure sector having held leadership positions at Gatwick, Heathrow, Thames Water, Network Rail, Tideway and TfL and London Underground.

The role is a new one in 2024; and reflects the growing scale and scope of Mace’s delivery across a number of infrastructure sectors across the UK and Europe. In particular, Mace Consult has seen strong growth in its work in the defence sector as well as highways and rail.

The Group is also announcing a new external appointment, as Ceri Evans joins in May as the new Global Lead for Cost and Commercial for Mace Consult. She will work with the team to build on the strong growth foundations that Andy has developed over the last two years.

Ceri has spent 14 years at Bechtel, most recently leading Contracts and Procurement for Bechtel’s Infrastructure business across EAMS UK&I. She also worked on Major rail programmes including the West Coast Route Modernisation, Reading Station Area Redevelopment, where she led for Reading Depot, Crossrail (Network Rail) West Prime contract Manager £2bn and Programme Commercial lead for Crossrail West Stations (14 of them from Reading to Ealing).

An experienced leader for over 20 years in strategic, operational, programme, portfolio and commercial management, Ceri has significant experience in the construction industry as a client, consultant and contractor across the UK, Saudi, North America, Australia and Canada.

Jason Millett, Mace’s Deputy Group Chief Executive and CEO of Consult, said:

“Our infrastructure work in Europe continues to grow from strength to strength, and the creation of this role – and Andy’s appointment into it – marks a significant moment for Mace Consult as we continue to target some of the continent’s most complex and challenging projects. I look forward to working with Andy as he works with our teams across Europe; from Reykjavik to Amsterdam, and from Warsaw to Dublin, Suffolk and Somerset.

“At the same time, Ceri’s appointment to lead the Cost and Commercial team will ensure that we’re able to build on the strong foundations Andy has left – her record of exceptional project and programme delivery is a fantastic match for our ambitious cost and commercial expertise.”
