Mace Consult looks to expand in Montréal to support area infrastructure projects
In a meeting hosted by Mace Consult CEO Davendra Dabasia with a delegation from Montréal at the firm’s London office today, Dabasia shared news that the company aims to expand its presence in Montréal, where the firm is supporting delivery of the Alto High-Speed Rail Project, and sees additional opportunities to serve infrastructure programs planned for Montréal–Trudeau International Airport and the Port of Montréal. Such programs call for the firm to add as many as 100 positions in the area, while also developing skilled worker and supply chain capabilities in the local market, creating high-quality opportunities for community stakeholders to support project delivery.
Mace currently employs more than 100 professionals in Canada from Toronto to Montréal, helping to deliver a variety of projects including the Metrolinx GO and subways mega program. The company’s expansion comes at a time when Canada’s Major Projects Office is allocating $135 billion for infrastructure improvements alongside provincial and local funding.
At the municipal level, Mayor Ferrada cites plans to invest $25.9 billion in Montréal infrastructure over the next decade through 2035 to modernize transportation networks, strengthen trade corridors, and bolster the region’s economic position.
The meeting provided the basis for mutually promising collaboration supporting these plans, with Mace sharing expertise to foster sustainable and resilient development tailored to Montréal’s needs and priorities. With the ultimate goal of catalyzing socioeconomic opportunities, the participants discussed ways to multiply the value realized by infrastructure investments throughout and beyond the development lifecycle – all for the greater benefit of the Montréal metro population.
Dabasia credits his firm’s collaborative delivery approach as key to complete major projects on time, budget, and scope, while prioritizing the development of local skills and services to create ongoing legacy value. Its success is evidenced by mega programs delivered from the Americas to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, including the complete revitalization of East London sparked by the London 2012 Olympic Games and Legacy Works, which in the decade since has generated economic value estimated at more than 10 times the original investment.
In addition to supporting infrastructure and capital programs in Canada, Mace serves as a delivery partner for major projects around the world, including the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project in New York; Peru’s national infrastructure reconstruction and resilience program (under UK-Peru government agreement); the UK New Hospital Programme; MTR rail transit and the CEDD Northern Metropolis projects in Hong Kong; and Saudi Arabia’s Diriyah Gate and Qiddiya mega programs.
