Project story

Delta City is no ordinary shopping mall. It is a revolution in Serbian retail that has seen standards boosted to newfound levels, becoming a central hub for its residents, whether in search of shopping, dining or entertainment.

Located in New Belgrade’s Blok 67 district, the mall is the first of its kind in Serbia, with a sprawling 85,000 square metres of floor space. Delta City combines luxury stores like H&M, Bershka, Geox, Guess, Mango and Zara with 15 restaurants, a six-screen cinema and six-floor car park equipped to store 1,200 vehicles.

Brought on to this ambitious project, our skilled experts were assigned project, cost, construction and programme management duties, along with the coordination of the mall’s tenants.

Project stats

85,000 sq m in size
140 shops
1,200 car park spaces

Points of note

Twin City

Delta City opened its doors in 2007, to widespread acclaim from shoppers to industry insiders. It scooped up swathes of awards and was followed by the opening of Montenegro’s own Delta City in Podgorica - another one of our projects – in 2009.

West is best

Bringing a truly Western shopping experience to Serbia was an innovative, if risky, goal, however Delta City has proven to be a barnstorming success in the Eastern European nation and beyond. Crowned Retail Project of the Year in 2008 by europaproperty.com, the New Belgrade mall beat out opposition from all across the continent in 2009, bestowed with the title of Best Shopping Mall in Europe, by the International Council of Shopping Centres.

“The extra effort that Delta and Mace team have shown from the beginning of the project helped us overcome the operational challenges and reach our goal to open the largest shopping mall in the region as planned”
