Mace bolsters its transit infrastructure presence with senior appointment in the U.S.

Mace, the global construction and consultancy company, today announced the appointment of Robert Chappell as Rail Operations Director, strengthening the consultancy business’ infrastructure presence in North America.

Robert joins Mace Consult from WSP where he served as Systems Director. He brings a wealth of experience to Mace with more than three decades of practical delivery expertise, having led projects for agencies such as LA Metro, Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) and Baltimore MTA, as well as for consultancies Hill International and AECOM. He also led the delivery of the rail expansion of the Valley Metro in Phoenix, Arizona, and the capital Purple Line P3 in Maryland.

Mace Consult has a well-established footprint in the U.S., working with world-leading brands including Tiffany & Co., Walgreens and Novartis, and supporting the delivery of Amtrak’s Penn Station redevelopment.

The international consultancy was recently awarded the delivery partner contract for Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program, in Canada, as part of a consortium with Comtech and SYSTRA.
Robert’s appointment in the role of Rail Operations Director marks Mace’s investment in the sector, as the business targets major programs with significant transit infrastructure clients in the U.S. and Canada.
