One Crown Place tops out

Malaysian infrastructure conglomerate MTD Group, has announced the topping-out of its premium scheme One Crown Place in London’s EC2.

Following a successful construction phase, the final floor of the 33-storey southernmost building has now been delivered by Mace, a global construction and consultancy firm and main contractors for One Crown Place. The northernmost building reached full height in Autumn 2019.

Embracing the old-meets-new character of the City of London and Hackney, One Crown Place is a welcome contrast to the capital’s many glass towers, artfully combining original heritage buildings with striking modern architecture from Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF).

The development will deliver a total of 246 private apartments and a fully restored Georgian terrace which will be transformed into a 41-room luxury boutique hotel, 140,000 sq ft of premium office space and retail units totalling 7,000 sq ft will also be delivered as part of the scheme.

External work on the residential towers is well underway at One Crown Place, revealing the scheme's unique and characterful design, and interior fit-out of the apartments has begun followed by the hotel fit-out later this year. The scheme is due to complete in Q1 2021.

Global property firm CBRE were appointed by MTD Group in 2015 to act as development manager and to market the site’s 246 private apartments and 140,000 sq ft of commercial space.
