Mace Foundation and Mace employees donate more than £870k in 2018

The Mace Foundation – an independent charity established by Mace in 2012 – and Mace employees together donated £872,000 to 120 different charities over 2018.

The Mace Foundation and Mace employees have donated more than £4m since the foundation was established seven years ago.

In 2018, Mace’s Charity of the Year was McMillan Cancer Support, chosen by an employee vote. Over the year, MacMillan received more than £116,000 in total, enough to help fund a Macmillan nurse for two years – who in turn will help to provide practical and emotional support for more than 364 people living with cancer.

Mace also maintained its commitment from 2017 to help to break down the stigma around mental health issues. The Foundation continued to support UK mental health charity Mind in its work to provide information, guidance and support vulnerable people.

This year, the Foundation will work with Construction Youth Trust, LandAid, Mind, Youth Hostel Association Breaks for Kids and Parkinson’s UK to help to improve the lives of disadvantaged people and communities where Mace has an impact.

Mark Reynolds, Mace’s Chief Executive, said:

“Every year I am overwhelmed by the commitment, enthusiasm and backing of Mace employees, clients and supply chain partners; but no more so than this year when everyone really has surpassed themselves. I am so proud of, indeed overwhelmed by, the contribution everyone has made, and the difference that has made to the lives of so many people.

“I have seen first-hand the difference that support can make to the individual and whole communities, and the lengths that everyone goes to in order to help others. With your help and support we will be able to make a bigger impact and help those less fortunate throughout 2019 and beyond.”
