Como wins place on £1bn HMRC fit-out framework
Mace (Como) has been awarded a place on a major four-year £1bn framework across the HM Revenue and Customs estate.
The framework forms part of the government hubs programme and will see firms fit out six million square foot of office space as part of the reorganisation of the current estate.
HMRC will see its current estate trimmed down to new large, modern regional centres and a series of specialist sites. The new regional centres will each be ‘fit for the demands of the 21st century’, equipped with digital infrastructure and training facilities. The framework underpins the newer ways of working that we are about to witness across much of the public sector.
Trevor Bacon, Mace’s Business Unit Director for Como, said:
“HMRC is an existing client who we have been working closely with over the year – and so we’re obviously thrilled that we’ll be able to build on that relationship through this framework appointment. The Government hubs programme is a really significant initiative with the potential to make a huge difference to how British public sector services are delivered. It’s great that Mace (Como) will be at the centre of that process, delivering real added value for the public."
