Sub-Saharan Africa

East African economies are growing faster than the rest of the continent, and many regional and international companies are looking to jump into the opportunities this represents. Kenya is increasingly being seen as the regional hub, from which companies can launch their ventures into the region, or consolidate their work there.

Mace has been working in Kenya since 2014. Our international experience is coupled with local knowledge, delivering projects for global clients. These include the fit out of the 8,000 square metre head office for Barclays in Nairobi as well as the project and programme management of the portfolio rationalisation for Nokia Siemens Networks across Sub-Saharan Africa. We are also working with global client, Microsoft, having fitted out their head offices in Nairobi and Lagos, Nigeria.

YMR has been operating in the region since 1985 and is one of the largest independent construction consultancy practices in East Africa. The business has worked with clients across the public and private sectors including Kenya Commercial Bank, the African Development Bank, Sony Holdings Limited and First Chartered Securities, providing construction consultancy services from project and cost planning to quantity surveying and building economics.

There is a natural fit of ambition and values between the two businesses; building on YMR’s cost consultancy service and local market knowledge, coupled with Mace’s international expertise of project and programme management and together we are committed to delivering high standards to our clients.

MaceYMR is ideally placed to help clients navigate an ever changing and complex business environment, providing strategic advice across a range of services, from commercial management, risk, project management to sustainability and health and safety. We also operate seamlessly across sectors, from infrastructure to residential, commercial to education.
