Mace Group completes demerger and divestment of Mace Consult

Mace Group now exclusively focused on UK construction business following demerger and divestment of Mace Consult.

Both Mace Group and Mace Consult now operate as independent organisations, with Mace Group now focused entirely on its Construct business. The completion follows months of meticulous work to separate the two businesses without affecting their ability to continue to provide best-in-class services to clients.

Mace Construct – as it will be referred to until it is renamed later this year - is the United Kingdom’s sixth-largest contractor and the second-largest privately owned contractor; a position achieved over more than thirty years of delivering many of the UK’s most recognisable projects, including Battersea Power Station, the Shard and the London Eye. The business has a hard-earned reputation for predictable, high-quality delivery and strong client partnerships.

The transaction has created a secure foundation for the future growth, with Mace Construct now debt free and even more financially resilient as a result of a significant reinvestment of proceeds by its shareholders. The Mace Group shareholders and Mace Construct management team remain unchanged.

As UK construction continues to evolve, Mace Construct is positioning itself to take advantage of new opportunities, sectors and markets. In 2026, the business will be given a new name and a refreshed brand that reflect its heritage and future ambitions.

The new identity will be shaped by colleagues, clients, suppliers and partners to ensure it represents Mace Construct as it is today: a bold, agile and innovative contractor that is focused on growth across the country.

For clients and partners, there will be no change to the service the business delivers. Project teams, supply chain relationships and governance structures have not been affected by the transaction. The business’ commitment to safe, predictable and highquality delivery is unchanged and is central to its future.

Mark Reynolds, Mace Group’s Executive Chair, said:

“This is an important day for everyone who works for Mace Group and Mace Consult – now two bold independent businesses with a shared heritage, but now with divergent ambitions for the future. I’d like to thank everyone across both organisations who have worked so hard over the past few years to support our clients and supercharge our growth.

“Over the next few years I look forward to working with Davendra Dabasia, CEO of Mace Consult, and Goldman Sachs Alternatives as they chart a path towards global growth with Mace Consult; and to supporting Mace Construct as we establish our new identity and lay the foundations for our continued leadership of the UK contracting market.”

Jason Millett, Mace Group’s Chief Executive Officer, said:

“What each business has achieved over the past three decades is phenomenal; the growth, the success, the trust our clients have placed in us and the opportunities we have been able to give our people. Personally, it was a privilege, and I will be forever grateful to have led Mace Consult to become the leading global Programme Manager. I can’t wait to see what Davendra and his team go on to achieve.

“At Mace Construct, we have a really exciting future ahead of us. Holding on to everything that made us great before but with a clearer focus, stronger operating model and growth plans grounded in resilience.”
