Cities and Places

Building tomorrow’s urban centres today

Urban populations today are growing at levels faster than the globe has ever seen.

By 2050, the World Bank expects 70% of the world’s population to live in urban centres.

This isn’t the only way our world is changing. Our shifting climate is impacting how people live, work and consume. The built environment has a role to play in reversing climate change. And creating cities resilient to its effects is no longer a nice-to-have, but an imperative.

Tomorrow’s cities and urban centres must be more sustainable, more efficient, more resilient than those of today. Or else, we risk exhausting our limited resources and slowing crucial progress.

We must begin planning for this future right now. Putting in place the partnerships that will deliver the type of built environment our population will need. Bringing together experts in sustainable, efficient construction across every urban sector. From schools and universities to hotels and resorts. From government buildings to retail centres. From arts and heritage sites to venues and stadiums. From our homes to where we work.

Creative solutions will be required to overcome the challenges we face. But the urban centres of tomorrow hold exciting promise. Emerging technology will allow us to create seamless experiences, altering how we work, commute, shop, live and recreate. Designing for the smart city experience now is how we can ensure it is delivered sustainably, without added strain.

Clients. Suppliers. And delivery teams. We’re all working towards the same goal, the same future. And we are at the forefront of its delivery.
