The Role

Senior Project Manager – Transport and Infrastructure

Based in Sydney, working on a major program initiative that is part of the Government’s NSW 2021 transport priorities, you will be supporting plans for growth and economic development across the State by providing greater connectivity between population and employment centres, and helping to reduce current road congestion.

You will be reporting to the Program Director and responsible for managing project teams delivering Strategic Business Cases, designs and supporting documentation.

Responsibilities Include

  • Management of Program Plans for the feasibility planning;
  • Program manage the development and delivery of the strategic business case and feasibility plans;
  • Management of the resources engaged to produce the business case;
  • Ensure team conducts the tasks outlined in the Project Plan to meet key timeframes;
  • Conduct site visits with Service Providers and key stakeholders as required.
  • Arrange the undertaking of key internal and external stakeholder workshops, technical working groups and design review panels;
  • Work with the Delivery Partners and separately engaged Cost Estimators to ensure appropriate cost planning is undertaken for each of the options developed for each location;
  • Present to, and gain approval from, the Project Control Group and the Executive Steering Committees of the preferred design outcomes;
  • Assist with the development and ongoing review of risk management;
  • Preparation of regular project reports;


Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • 10 years professional experience in Program or large-scale Project Management;
  • Significant demonstrated leadership experience in delivering feasibility design, construction and/or infrastructure programs;
  • Previous experience within the transportation sector for rail, road, car parks and maritime infrastructure;
  • In-depth Program and Project Management experience, demonstrating a clear understanding of the distinction between the functions of each discipline;
  • High level communication skills and a proven capacity for successful negotiation, consultation and stakeholder management with clients, team members, and the community;
  • Previous experience working within public sector project management frameworks, governance and stage gating processes;
  • Familiarity with scheduling software such as Primavera is highly regarded, as is the ability to work with complex data.​


  • Degree Qualifications is preferred.
  • Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential (AIPM / PMI)
  • Project Management Certification preferred (CPPM or PMP)
