The Role

Project Manager – Higher Education

Responsibilities Include

  • Project Manager or Programme Manager to deliver projects within the Higher Education (and possibly FE) sectors.
  • Role likely to involve undertaking and delivering 1 large project; 2 or 3 medium sized projects or a combination of both and most likely as the lead PM with support from Junior PM’s.
  • Line management, training and development of junior staff.
  • Non project related roles will be business reporting, bidding amongst others; as directed by the Sector Lead.


Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience of Higher Education clients desirable.
  • Experience of delivering student accommodation a big plus, although not essential.
  • Delivery of complex HE projects up to circa £25m construction value. New-build and refurbishment experience a must.
  • Detailed knowledge / appreciation of asbestos awareness a must.
  • Good commercial awareness and good with internal business reporting.
  • Experience of bidding a plus.
  • Experience of line-management (2-3 people minimum) a plus.
  • CV’s with Further Education (FE) experience [along with HE experience] would be a plus.
  • Solid experience of Contract Administration and using various forms of contract essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills and a good team player


  • Degree Qualifications is preferred but not essential.
  • Professional Memberships are an advantage but not essential.
