Project: This is a defence programme based in central south-east England. The current phase 1 commission (secured) is the first 18 months of a 10+ year programme. The scope is to define manufacturing capability options within the existing facility versus the new build and submit the outline business case to the client.

The programme is in a highly secure site and will require successful candidates to work in live and strictly controlled environments that are operating at the highest levels of safety and security.
This position is responsible for planning and managing the development, change and improvement of the client level 4 IMS and providing planning guidance to the project and programme team.
The role will be managing a portfolio of project programmes and supporting planning engineers or junior planning engineers including supervision and checking of work to ensure that all work complies with company standards and procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
Being accountable for the technical quality and integrity of the applicable elements of the client level 4 IMS programme.
Developing and maintaining schedules for specific scopes of work to be included as one of many current schedules representing the engineering, licensing, construction and commissioning.
Preparing robust tender and contract programmes using the designated planning tool.
Providing fully resource programmes, produce resource histograms, resource level programmes, understand and communicate the effect on programme schedules to the project team.
Incorporating appropriate financial data in the programme to produce a project cost/time distribution profile and communicate the results to the project team.
Displaying and evaluating the project critical path and advise the project team of the results and any appropriate corrective action.
Producing and maintaining project baselines and execute the change control process as appropriate.
Managing and recording correctly all project progress in the programme, reschedule programme to take effect of the progress data and communicate the results to the project team and advise of any appropriate corrective action.
Producing project reports or data directly from the planning software arranging the data to align with the company accounting software.
Understanding and reporting on a project using earned value analysis techniques and interpret/communicate the results and any corrective action to the project team.
Producing programmes that satisfy contractual requirements.
You have a degree in construction management/engineering or BTEC equivalent qualification and a member of APM or a similar professional body. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or consultancy background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
