The opportunity

Project: Mace is working as part of a JV and this role will be supporting on all associated enabling works for the rail project.

The enabling works technical assistant assists the enabling works lead to coordinate, integrate and assure the enabling works packages and helps to create an efficient working environment, ensures technical processes and scheduled and completed and assists in running an auditable series of processes.

The role will be reporting to enabling works lead.

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Assisting the enabling works to lead to plan and implement delivery in accordance with the programme.
  • Providing administrative tasks including arranging meetings/workshops and taking minutes.
  • Contributing to the achievement of safe, buildable, operational and maintainable assets. Maintaining an uncompromising commitment to safety.
  • Supporting status/programme reporting, tracking of actions, risk reporting/mitigation and change management.
  • Reviewing design deliverables and identifying issues with the design, escalate and support the resolution.
  • Assisting in producing documents, trackers and assurance documents.
  • Monitoring progression of technical assurance, especially where areas are progressively fixed.
  • Supporting ongoing cost forecasting and support cost reduction opportunities.
  • Supporting innovation.
  • Supporting engagement with the client, third parties and MDJV supply chain.
  • Assisting in preparing scope documents and contract documentation.

About you

You have a degree or higher level, typically engineering discipline or office administration. You are working towards or a member of an appropriate professional institution such as ICE or international equivalent status.

You are comfortable building lasting client relationships. You will have a construction or consultancy background within a rail sector and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
