Community Renewal | Mace
At Mace, our experience has taught us that meaningful community engagement is a key component of regeneration. Physical regeneration outcomes can only be successful if they have the support of local people and embrace social inclusion as a prime objective. We have responded to the shift towards a social-led regeneration agenda by diversifying and learning new skills in seeking finance, working with stakeholders and understanding public funding mechanisms.
We take an integrated approach to tackling the complex issues facing communities. We realise that good regeneration is not just about bricks and mortar, and that our schemes are successful and sustainable because we involve local communities at every stage. Our community renewal projects go beyond stakeholder engagement to challenge the social disadvantages, poverty and social exclusion experienced in some areas.
Our pioneering community regeneration programme (previously social inclusion) has facilitated more than a thousand people from disadvantaged backgrounds into full time employment. We pride ourselves on helping to empower local people to achieve real and lasting benefits for themselves and their communities through sustainable regeneration programmes.
