Robbie Smith | Mace
Robbie brings over 25 years construction and project management experience on a diverse range of engineering projects for public and private sector clients.
An accomplished construction and project manager, Robbie is a talented people manager and is able to demand the best out of his team leading by example. Robbie has worked on, and led, a wide variety of projects which provided a breadth of experience in many building types adopting a variety of procurement routes, in both Construction and Project Management roles and is experienced in risk and value engineering. Robbie is fully committed to the comprehensive and effective management required to make the project a success.
Current role
Since joining Mace, Robbie has been involved in securing and delivering services on a variety of commissions. He is responsible for overall management of a number of Framework commissions, including Transport Scotland (Rail ), Health Facilities Scotland, WRAP, OGC.
He has also led the Mace Scotland team on recent local authority commissions with Perth & Kinross Council and is currently personally involved with the Edinburgh International Conference centre extension in Edinburgh City Centre.
Career overview
Robbie began his career in 1984 working for a National contractor before moving into Managing Contracting, Construction Management and ultimately Project Management.
Robbie has been involved on a wide range of prestigious and complex building Project over the years, including the Railtrack Station Regeneration Programme (£180M); Edinburgh Airport Major Development (£100M); The Playfair Project for the National Galleries of Scotland (£30M); The Silverburn Centre in Glasgow (£170M Landlord works)
