Telehouse West Data Centre | Mace
Data centre operators must provide facilities that go beyond cutting edge to provide their technically demanding clients with reliable, scalable, and energy efficient systems. Reassured by Mace's track record for delivering high quality data centres, Telehouse, the rapidly expanding global data centre business, commissioned Mace as main contractor on a fast-track programme for a high specification data centre in London that exemplifies leadership and new standards for the sector.
Telehouse West is a nine-storey Tier 4 power and Tier 3 cooling co-location centre comprising 5,000 square metres of technical and customer space, an eight-tonne traction lift (the largest installed in London in two decades), and an energy plant supplying a total of eight 2.5MVA HV generators. The Government's Carbon Reduction Commitment is met by exporting waste heat for use in nearby homes and businesses. Mace completed the fit out of the client's technical areas and took the customer areas to shell and core technical readiness in preparation for future use. Setting another example of Mace's ability to offer clients the flexibility of single-source integration, the team also provided logistics for the project, maintaining security, providing tower cranes and related support activities, and the health and safety management on the project won a RoSPA Gold award.
