Information
Mace is delivering programme and project management services for RBS NatWest, providing an award winning service as the bank undergoes large scale refurbishment, Sense was also appointed cost consultant by RBS to financially manage the rolling branch refurbishment programme across the NatWest estate over a number of years.
Mace is programme manager for an extensive four year programme of Royal Bank of Scotland / NatWest brand branch retail delivery. Operating from a London office and with regional offices in Manchester and Edinburgh, Mace provides overarching programme management and a delivery team of project management, supply chain, mechanical and electrical, cost management, design and HSE/CDM services, on an extensive variety of retail projects.
These include branch refurbishment (BIMP) projects, new acquisition and relocations, brand refresh schemes and new signage roll outs. Mace is also engaged in the coordination and delivery of a project involving new technology installations, working at the leading edge of retail banking.
The management of this programme is characterised by innovation and systems improvement. Portfolio Manager - a Mace developed hub for a toolkit of project and programme management systems - provides a portal for knowledge management, financial control and project planning and includes links to proprietary systems such as the BIW Information Channel project collaboration tool. Mace's strategic coordination role involves planning and managing the logistics of both our own workload and that of RBS's other suppliers engaged in refurbishment issues and improvement work.
The Mace retail team also pioneered a new key performance indicator (KPI) measurement system allowing live data to be communicated to the client and supply chain for the duration of the project. These play an intrinsic role in providing quantative and objective feedback on performance.
The programme management office in London has achieved ISO9001 accreditation so the systems and processes developed and utilised on this framework are fully compliant with the standard.
Strong relationships between the Mace retail team and RBS stakeholders including their retail and operational teams, Group IT, RBSG (Royal Bank of Scotland Group Security) and FM have developed over the four years of the existing framework.
Mace was awarded the RBS Supplier Excellence Award for Innovation in 2006 having been selected from the 25,000 worldwide suppliers to RBS.
