Information
Mace continues its long term relationship with BAA with an appointment to provide CDM coordination on the design and construction of the Heathrow East Terminal.
The £1bn+ Heathrow East Terminal project for client BAA comprises the demolition of Terminal 2 and Queens Building, and the construction of a new terminal building, forecourt and aircraft stands. Major new support facilities including a remote energy station, cooling station and HV substation will also be constructed. Substantial enabling works are required to ensure Terminals 1 and 3 continue to operate throughout the construction period.
In addition, Mace has been commissioned to deliver the migration plan for the existing Queens Building and Terminal 2. This complex project involves the relocation of 25 airlines and their support teams. Following the completion of the migration sequence Mace will manage the demolition works associated with the building footprint to ensure construction commencement date is achieved. The brief includes the creation of the construction footprint whilst maintaining the current Terminal 2 operation.
