Information

Mace brings construction management to Ireland, working on the delivery of Terminal 2 for Dublin Airport.

Mace is using construction management to delivery a new terminal building, pier and associated infrastructure at Dublin's expanding airport. The project is being undertaken under a 3rd party agreement with Arup who undertake the lead consultant role of a triumvirate of Arup, Mace and Pascall and Watson. In addition to the above consultants Davis Langdon PKS provide the commercial aspects, working alongside Mace throughout.

The commission was awarded in Dec 2005 and we are responsible for the procurement, package integration and project delivery. The €690M project has been divided into 17 workable packages, commencing with enablling works which began in February 2007. The delivery strategy is based on the terminal and pier opening in 2009 as the new gateway to Ireland.

Mace's strong track record and portfolio of construction management successes helped convince DAA that it could keep to its 2009 deadline for the new terminal despite the building almost doubling in size during the design phase.

The project is currently in the construction phase with procurement complete and the detailed design in its final stages. Most recently the fit out and MEP contractors have been mobilised to deliver this demanding programme and although there is more than a year to completion, commissioning of the Energy Centre will commence in November 2008.
