Mace is providing project management services for client Brockenhurst College. Works will entail the replacement of existing buildings with a completely new campus on the existing site, enabling the migration process to take place in one go, avoiding the need for temporary accommodation.

The design and construction programme is in two phases, so that the enabling works clear and prepare the site for new buildings, with new sports facilities and playing fields, the energy centre and electrical infrastructure. The main phase will then construct the new campus of over 20,00s m2 in one two year construction programme.

The design of the new campus will allow the college's students to move into the next generation of educational experience and lifestyle, with classrooms and teaching spaces that are extremely flexible, multifunctional and able to link into the latest ICT functionality.

Brockenhurst College is one of the largest and most successful further education colleges in the south of England.

Its curriculum provides an extensive range of courses and qualifications for 16 to 19 year olds, plus adult skills courses for many vocation subjects. It has a current role of nearly 3,500 students in 2008 and is rated as ‘outstanding' by OFSTED.

After the whole college has migrated to new facilities, the old buildings will be demolished and site landscaped.
