Modern living

Our team has delivered 78 new residential units for Octavia Housing and Care in a scheme that incorporates social, shared ownership and affordable housing in the centre of London.

The Bourbon Lane affordable housing scheme for client Octavia Housing was built by Como using modern methods of construction. Designed to incorporate an innovative cladding system, the cassettes came to site pre-glazed, insulated and with internal finishes in place. Only the larch cladding for the external face was fixed on site.

The scheme is also served by CHP plant located centrally to offer an environmentally friendly design solution and achieve a good ECO homes rating. This enables Octavia to provide cheap energy to tenants and sell surplus power into the national grid.

Works were completed in summer 2007 and all tenants moved into the development over a four week period. Prior to handover each completed apartment was inspected by the tenant so that any comments or obstacles were addressed to ensure the apartment was snag free at handover.
