Mace Plus successfully delivered 1, Old Jewry, a prestigious mixed-use development comprising commercial office space and sub-divisible retail space for our client Standard Life Investments.
Situated in the heart of the city of London, 1 Old Jewry is a landmark nine storey building. The development incorporates commercial office and sub-divisible retail space at ground level.
With a retained sub-basement and basement, the 10,000m2 scheme was a new build to the 8th floor and comprised a structural steel frame with lightweight concrete floors on new piled foundations. The envelope to the three exposed elevations was a combination of Portland Stone and Anstrude (a French limestone) affixed to the structure via both pre-cast panels and handset elements. The aluminium window frames sit behind the stone façade. The roof is both paved and cobbled with plant located in wells formed within the roof itself. The northern elevation is built adjacent to the party wall of 8-10 Old Jewry and is supported by a façade retention system partially incorporated into the permanent structure.
The ground floor had a new office reception and sub-divisible retail space while the offices on levels one to eight were completed to category A specification.
Following a successful handover to the client the building is now fully occupied by its new tenant Fidessa.
