Mace is a key player in one of the biggest construction projects in Germany, Hafencity, a 155 hectare redevelopment of Hamburg's docklands, a major extension to the city. The area is currently dockland, similar to London or Liverpool Docks prior to their redevelopment, with a few old listed warehouses and a lot of large open space which is to be redeveloped.

Working for SNS, ING and Gross & Partner, Mace is contributing to Uberseequartier, project managing a mixed use development comprising residential, commercial, retail, F&B and hotel projects. Within the Mace-managed part of the site there are 3 areas, parts of which have already been sold off-plan, so as ever deadlines will be critical to project delivery.

Construction works commenced on the Mace managed components in mid-2008, with overall completion in 2010.

Hafencity represents an exciting new development for Hamburg's residents and a great opportunity for Mace Group as it expands its reach in Germany.
