Firstsite Visual Arts Facility

Appointed by Colchester Borough Council via the Smart-EAST framework, Mace provided project management and construction delivery services for Firstsite, a visual
arts facility.  

Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the vision for the facility was to create a centre for contemporary visual art. The facility includes presentation spaces, educational facilities, an art gallery, auditorium, offices, conference facilities, restaurant, back of house areas and external landscaping.

Mace was originally appointed to carry out a strategic review of the technical and procurement challenges facing the project restoring the confidence in the delivery of the project for the client.
