Essex Federated Colleges

In January 2007 our client Place Group entered into a contract with Department for Children, Schools and the Family (DCSF) to deliver three academies at Greensward College, John Bramston and Rickstone’s Schools in Essex. Mace was seconded to Place Group as overall project manager for the three academies, sponsored by Greensward College. The pathfinder model that the academies are part of deploys the strategic leadership of the Greensward Charitable Trust.

The model is designed to promote, dissimilate and transfer the successful working practices of Greensward Academy through to the new academies of Maltings and New Rickstones.  The academies opened on the 1st September 2008.  

Unlike the standard delivery model, these academies are developed under an accelerated procedure.  The project team coordinated the site transfers, governance, principal selection, marketing and consultation with the wider community as part of the change management requirements and set up a funding agreement model that will form the basis of the Academies Enterprise Trust (AET) future expansion.
