Care Quality Commission Registration

CQC commission registrationFollowing the Health and Social Care Act 2008, which established the Care Quality Commission as the regulator of all health and adult social care services, the Care Quality Commission (Registration) Regulations 2009 and the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 require that service providers are registered under the new Act or they will be committing a criminal offense. Mace's healthcare team supports clients to meet these new legal requirements. Providers must sign a declaration stating that they are complaint with the new Essential Standards of Quality and Safety and if they do not comply, an action plan must be submitted stating how they will achieve and maintain compliance. All NHS trusts are now registered under the Act and from April 2011, general practitioners, ambulance trusts and dentists will also have to register and comply.

Mace has the expertise to support all healthcare providers to register with the CQC, as confirmed by the director of patient services at a hospice in Hampshire who said she would "wholeheartedly recommend Mace". The team analyses existing systems and practice, and develops a package of services tailored to each service. In addition, Mace helps to transfer existing registrations, apply for new registrations, and advise on transformation and change management to implement new systems and practice in response to the legislation.
