Birmingham Eastside Regeneration | Mace
Mace was commissioned in 2006 by a joint venture to provide programme and project management services to Eastside, one of the city’s largest ever regeneration projects. By establishing collaborative working between public and private agencies, maintaining a holistic approach to infrastructure works and advising on risks at a strategic level, Mace has been integral to the scheme. This long-term investment is transforming, revitalising and regenerating neglected parts of the city, creating new and sustainable communities that will contribute to the continuing economic and cultural growth of Birmingham.
Labelled “the next chapter in the renaissance of Birmingham”, the project has been subject to intense scrutiny, making effective stakeholder management an essential element in successful delivery of a wide-ranging scheme. In addition to working on masterplan, developing the master programme and managing a host of consultants, contractors and developers, Mace is coordinating closely with Advantage West Midlands and Birmingham City Council to manage the public sector’s significant investment in the area. Within the Eastside area, Mace has worked on nine projects since the late 1990s, including the delivery of Millennium Point, Birmingham Eastside Locks, the Jennens Road student accommodation scheme and the Matthew Boulton outreach centre.
