Mace Technology awarded 5 stars by the British Safety Council | Mace
The science and technology team's reputation for high safety standards has been recognised with a highly prestigious five stars in the British Safety Council's five-star health and safety management system audit.
The international audit looks at the safety management systems of a business as a whole and at the compliance and best practice procedures within those systems. It is split into five sections that cover 59 elements and a detailed report is provided recognising best practice and recommending areas for further improvement.
The five areas are:
1. Safety, organisation and structure
2. Management and controls
3. Emergency controls
4. Management of accident/incident/near miss/damage reporting
5. Work place implementation
The five-star auditing systems for health and safety provide objective and quantifiable benchmarking of Mace's performance. This enables the technology team to chart and monitor Mace's continuous improvement towards best practice in regards to safety.
Phil Coutts said: "We are delighted that Mace's science and technology team was awarded the highest mark available under the audit scheme and I want to congratulate and thank everyone for the excellent work that they provided in support of our drive for continual improvement in our health, safety and environmental initiatives. This award, like the British Safety Council International Safety Award and RoSPA Gold awards won by the team earlier in the year, demonstrates the exceptional commitment that Mace has to improving the health, safety and environmental standards of its projects and the industry as a whole."
