Mace achieves five star environmental award

2010 gets underway with an early success in the area of sustainability and the environment. Mace's science and technology team has achieved five out of five stars in a British Safety Council five star environmental management system audit.

Mace has always placed great emphasis on maintaining a high level of environmental, health and safety performance, winning numerous awards and accolades. The achievement means that Mace can now enter to win the Globe of Honour award, which is similar to the Sword of Honour the team won in late 2009 for excellent health and safety performance.

The environmental management system audit was carried out over four days at Mace's Reading office, where the technology team is based, and the Nationwide site in Newbury. The international standard sees auditors examine the whole environmental management system of a business including compliance and best practice.
