Mace's team working on the New Doha International Airport (NDIA) passenger rail system station box, has achieved one million hours without a reportable accident.

Mace is an industry leader in managing health and safety. By applying its proven health and safety strategy and contractor safety management system, and engaging its Qatar workforce, Mace was able to reach the milestone.

Jonathan Toms, Mace's international director for Qatar said: "We are delighted to reach this important milestone. It couldn’t have been achieved without the commitment from all the organisations involved in the project to deliver and maintain our high standards of health and safety."

NDIA is being developed to replace the existing Doha International Airport and support the needs of Qatar Airways. The airline is recording significant growth in its aircraft fleet and network, making Doha a major regional hub and global gateway.

The station box forms part of a huge investment to improve accessibility between the international airport and populous areas in the region. It will also help deliver the infrastructure commitments of Qatar’s successful 2022 World Cup bid.
