Richard Herrington

Richard started his career as a trainee Quantity Surveyor with Costain Construction in 1973 based in their Kent region working on various commercial, industrial and residential new build projects valued up to £6.5m.

In 1979 he joined Bovis Construction at Harrow starting as a project surveyor and being promoted to Divisional manager. He worked on projects including local authority housing, the London Docklands Arena, various new build and refurbishment hospitals for BUPA and new build and refurbishment office developments.

He left Bovis in 1989 and joined Stanhope Interior Construction (now ISG/ Interior Plc) as a senior surveyor and stayed with them until 2003 at which time he was an Operations Director in London fitout. During his 13 years at Interior he was responsible for numerous high quality fitout and refurbishment projects with values up to £60m for customers such as CSFB, Deutsche Bank, London Underground, Barings, KPMG and the BBC Mailbox in Birmingham.

In early 2003 he joined The Pel Group in Birmingham as Group Commercial Director responsible for all commercial and many operational aspects of this £80m turnover interior fitout business which specialised in the retail sector working for customers such as M&S, House of Fraser, John Lewis, Sainsbury's, BAA and NEC Group. As a result of Richard's relationships with the project team Pel were appointed to construct the private boxes on the prestigious Ascot Racecourse redevelopment project.

He is currently Commercial Director of the Technology division which is responsible for the construction of Data Centres , pharmaceutical facilities, manufacturing plant and media production facilities under all forms of contract and procurement routes
