David Rumsey

David is an operations director and he is currently leading the programme and project management sub-sector within Mace's public sector consultancy business.

He has worked in the construction industry for the last 20 years with a career spanning from multi-million pound programmes to fast track office developments to specialist refurbishment works. He has gained a broad knowledge of the industry working with varying procurement routes and for a number of market leading clients including Scottish Widows, London Underground, Merrill Lynch and Stanhope as well as local authorities and other public sector clients.

He is an experienced programme manager with a history of successfully delivering complex, multi-million pound schemes.

Recently he carried out the role of construction and facilities management lead on the £200 million Haringey Council Building schools for the future programme.

His role on the project included working closely with the client at a strategic level on the programme as a whole as well as carrying out an overseeing role on the work being carried out on the individual projects that the programme comprised of.

As part of his role he ensured that best practice was an intrinsic part of the service provided to the client and that the benefits of economies of scale were not lost by the sub-division into individual projects.

Prior to this he was the project director responsible for the £255 million re-development of the Brunel University, Uxbridge campus. He successfully oversaw all commercial aspects of the project from inception onwards as well managing a team project managers to deliver a wide range of projects from approximately £0.5 to £60 million in value.
