David Hammond

David joined Mace with over 20 years of experience, providing design, design management and consultancy services to clients in a variety of market sectors, these include pharmaceutical, industrial, manufacturing, healthcare, education, commercial, transport and defence.

He has extensive experience of leading multidisciplinary teams as either lead designer, or design manager, and as project director, on a diverse range of complex projects, and has held direct responsibility for the creative direction, technical and commercial performance of delivery teams through all workstages of a project, from concept to completion.

David is a chartered architect and has worked both in the UK and internationally, and has experience of fee based, prime cost reimbursable, guaranteed maximum price and fixed price contracts.

He has a keen interests in the use of technology and “offsite” manufacture to ensure the consistent safe delivery of coordinated designs to procurement and construction teams, in order to maximise programme, cost and quality benefits.

A passionate believer in the benefits of multidisciplinary design and integrated project delivery, his aim is to balance appropriate design with the commercial requirements of a project and practical delivery. David seeks to maximise value, efficiency and return through the teams he works with, whilst fully satisfying the client’s objectives and requirements.
