Stephen Pycroft | Mace
Stephen Pycroft is Chairman and CEO of Mace. Having joined the company in 1993 and appointed a Group Board Director in 1995, Stephen led a management buyout of the company in 2001 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer before taking over as CEO at the end of 2004 and Chairman in 2008.
Under Stephen’s direction, Mace has become a £20M profit business achieving a 35% CAGR over the last six years. He has led the company to achieve phenomenal growth with turnover increasing from £90m in 2001 to £851m in 2010, whilst evolving the company into an international consultancy and construction group with an enviable reputation for quality and delivery and employing over 3,000 people worldwide.
Personally leading projects where Mace has the greatest opportunity to add impact and benefit for clients in new markets or when facing new challenges, Stephen’s vision of applying the original, core Mace values of collaborative, non-combative construction to every aspect and phase of the built environment is now a reality. This powerful combination of corporate vision and hands-on direction has led to the company’s expansion globally with clients in over 65 countries benefitting from the professionalism and innovation of the Mace approach.

Under Stephen’s leadership Mace has built one of the industry’s most sophisticated community regeneration and social inclusion services helping thousands of people into work and training whilst delivering projects for clients across the public and private sectors.
